WIFI Roaming 2860 and Powerline connected AP was created by philtrick123
Hi,
I've been having some frustrated testing at home for my local community centre.
I have a 2860N at home (and the community centre), I need to extend the WIFI signal. I purchased a powerline based WIFI extension kit. But I soon found that the Draytek router seems to bind the WIFI connection from a device to it's own WIFI and therefore I can't login on the remote powerline WIFI- the device just says 'Can't obtain IP Address'.
Is there anyway of overcoming this limitations?
Note I did some further testing and disabled the WIFI in the 2860N and used a an old BT Home Hub as an access point. This worked great and allowed me to roam between the HH Access Point and the powerline WIFI- why can't I do the same with the built in WIFI of the 2860?
Thanks
