2867be coming soon? was created by Mark
I noticed in the AP905 access point current firmware (v5.1.0) if you click on the link for the list of supported devices on the "AP Adoption" page (Wireless / Device / AP Adoption) it lists Vigor2867, Vigor2928, Vigor2867be and Vigor2928be routers. The 2928 was leaked a couple of years ago and has just launched and the 2928be is inevitable, but the 2867 models took me by surprise. I currently have a 2866Vac (router + VDSL modem), which has been great, but its 1Gbit Ethernet ports are a bit of a limiting factor now on my internal network, even though I don't have fibre broadband yet (Openreach actually brought a fibre into my flat but then pulled it out without finishing the job and aborted the installation to the building). Does anyone know the 2867 models' specs and expected launch dates? The 2928 not having at least 2.5GbE all-round was a bit of a disappointment but it's still useable with an external switch if you do need more fast ports.

It reminds me of an event at an engineering company I used to work at many, many years ago when I was a young man. We had been on a new project for a few weeks and the guys writing the user interface software had sourced samples of the LCD display and the keypad they wanted to use and the mechanical engineer had had a rough prototype of the case made in the machine shop. They put these together and sat it on an engineer's bench with a PC driving the display with a fake UI image. Someone from marketing happened to walk by and came to have a closer look. "This project's going really well!" he said when he saw the empty box with some buttons and lights on it, "I can't wait to tell some of our key customers they'll be getting this soon. But why does the project plan still say it's two years away?" We were told never to show marketing anything again without an engineering manager being there to chaperone them.

That post from February 2024 in this forum was the mention of the 2928 from two years ago that I was alluding to. Other than that the only other mention of it that I ever found was in a list of upcoming product launches buried in the DrayTek UAE web site from summer 2025. They did a fairly good job of keeping it under wraps. The picture of the 2928 in the forum post you linked to must have been an early marketing mock-up with no real hardware or software inside it.

“never to show marketing anything again”
A good principle as you can sabotage your current sales by showing the new and shiny new products.
With Draytek the direction of travel seems fairly obvious and there is a balance between early release (and the danger of bugs) and being later to market than competitors.
As another business aphorism, I have “don’t judge a manufacturer by whether their product works (it won’t), judge by their interest in fixing it”.

DrayTek Australia/New Zealand uploaded a 30 minute
video
to YouTube a few days ago (2026-04-22) which gives a brief overview of the new products coming this year, including the 2867, 2867be, 2867be-5G, 2928, 2928be and 2928be-5G routers and the AP1070C access point. It's worth a watch if you're thinking about upgrading soon or just want to keep up-to-date with what's available.
Apart from the AP1070C ceiling mounted unit there was no mention of any other access points, or any routers, with 6GHz wifi. DrayTek seem a bit slow with this. The 2.4GHz wifi band in my block of flats is full and the only reason I can use the 5GHz band is because a lot of my neighbours' routers and other devices are all on the same default channel at the bottom of the band. 6GHz would be very nice to have because there is currently no-one at all in my building using it.
