Draytek 2928 was created by drbi
This is serious question ..... Is the release of the 2928 proper or a bit on the experimental side from Draytek ? When I saw the spec I decided to get one ....... to migrate from a 2927. Mainly for the wireguard (promised) performance upgrade and the general DrayOs5 (promised) improvements .... I had it for 4 days now ..... I do regret my decision .. everything but the simplest settings appear convoluted ..... I have been trying to setup some VPNs .... endless troubles .... managed to get site-to-site working .... the teleworker one (from an iphone with the smart VPN app) will simply not work ..... connection established but i can not access anything (the option which used to work - SSL VPN) is simply not there ........ no dyndns client for OVH (I can't be bother to set an API) had to use drayddns
Any experiences out there ? Thinking of putting the 2927 back in use and waiting for a year ?

Wait a year for what ?
I've moved to a 2136 and wouldn't go back to DrayOS 4 at all if I could help it...
And I can tell you that in v4.5.3RC2a of the 2866 firmware that SSL VPN appears to be pretty much removed there too - so your 2927 will be next no doubt.

in fact this might be an early release for 2927: -

Wait for a year for Draytek to sort out their issues ....... I am trying just to setup a simple teleworker ipsec xauth vpn from my iphone to the router, not complicated really ....... connection established but no data flow .....
The firmware on release was 5.4.0 and I have updated it to 5.4.1

Hmmm, sounds more like you have the issue not them,
Remember the 2136 has been out over a year now - basically the same firmware as your 2928... So it's already had that amount of time for it to be 'sorted'. You'd be better off raising a real support call I think.

I’ve a 2927 and the WireGuard app seems to work well (I didn’t try the SmartVPN).
Give that a go with your 2928.
I know what you mean about the 2928 and it’s clearly the first of a range but the selling point is primarily WAN and LAN interface speed at that price point and form factor.

Have purchased 8 of them so far and no problem at all with Site to Site or Teleworker VPN as of yet.
There are some functions missing in the current firmware (like MTU detection) which I am assured will be added shortly and have noticed some disconnections when moving around the interface but they are minor and have reported this.
We have started deploying these to customer sites now as they seem stable enough to use but am expecting improvements in the next few months.
