LAN DNS is not being respected was created by support
Hello all

I have a 2915 on firmware 4.4.6.1

I have a web server on the LAN that is accessible from the WAN but is not accessible via FQDN on the LAN.

I've put in the entry in LAN DNS and the ping resolves correctly but I cannot browse to it.

If I use the IP, it works.

If I stick the entry in Windows HOST file it works.

Draytek is not honouring the LAN DNS.

If I look at the syslog it shows --> :porto

How do I either get LAN DNS to be respected or set up NAT loopback to allow me to come back in using the FQDN and external WAN IP.

Hi support,

Have you tried pointing your LAN clients’ DNS to your 2915 address, rather than having them configured to an external DNS entry like 1.0.0.1, 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.4.4 etc?

This has worked for me in the past.
