Using Port 5 as LAN on Draytek Vigor 2862n was created by James Whitelegg
I have a Draytek Vigor 2862n. I'm using this as a switch / access point only , as I have a separate router.
I cannot get port 5 to work as a LAN port, rather than a WAN. I would like all the ports on LAN1, so don't want to use VLANs if I can avoid them.
So far I have:
- turned off the DHCP for LAN1
- Gone into WAN / General Setup, and unticked the WAN2 enable box (screen now says "Physical Mode / Type: LAN port 5 (in red)"). On the WAN2 details page Enable at the top of the screen is set to No.
However, following reboot, port 5 does not function, and the status / activity LEDS are unlit. I think the port does work as the lights did come on for about 5 seconds during one test.
I have upgraded the firmware to the latest version.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
James

Hi
James Whitelegg
,
Have you checked the "System Maintenance >> Panel Control" settings? You'll see a 'LAN Port' tab...
Check the port isn't disabled for some strange reason.

I have checked, and port 5 is ticked as enabled.
Just thought I'd test it again, and bizarrely the port is now working, so I have no idea what I did that's different.
Anyway, thank you very much for your help.
